Flying High in 4th Grade!

Dear Parents & Students,

It has been a while since I've updated this website, but I'm jumping in with both feet, and I am trying something new to challenge the students.  I've created a new page on this website  called "Kids' Blog" to give the students an opportunity to share responses with me and other students in our class about books we are reading.  I'm hoping the children enjoy this as a more up‐to‐date alternative to paper journal responses.  I'll still be looking for responses that reflect on what they are reading, make connections to other books they have read or experiences they have had, and predictions about what may come next.  Because the students will be able to use technology for their responses, I'm hoping they embrace this as an opportunity to share more and to do so more frequently.   This will be a bit of a learning curve for the students and even moreso for me, but I'm excited about what it might bring in the way of improved journal responses.  This will also give students the opportunity to share ideas with their peers on a regular basis.
